Services Colloborated with Michigan Rehabilitation Services
The Placement Department at Lapeer Team Work partners with Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) to achieve quality employment outcomes and independence for persons with disabilities.

Job Readiness Training: We focus on barriers to employment and discuss the coping mechanisms and tools available to help overcome those barriers.

Best Impression Classes: Participants learn how to dress for interviews, interviewing etiquette, and tips on personal hygiene.
- Job Seeking Training: Participants obtain the tools needed to look for a job and how to find gainful employment. Learn how to complete job applications, write a resume and cover letter, and discuss various interviewing techniques, personal presentation styles, and how to prepare follow up thank you letters.
- Work Experience/Evaluation: This program is typically 2 weeks. We asses skills, abilities and barriers to employment. This will help determine if an individual is ready for competitive employment. Individuals are assesed at various sites depending on the individuals goals.

Services Colloborated with Michigan Works
In collaboration with our local Michigan WORKS! office, our Placement Office provides onsite “Work Experience” opportunities for individuals interested in volunteering on our Mobile Work Crew. These individuals are referred to us by their Case Managers at Michigan WORKS! “Work Experiences” typically cover a two-week period.
